Tips on self care from a boudoir photographer

Self love= self care

I don't know about you but lately everyone is talking about self love, which is absolutely amazing I love how everybody is being mindful of this. However some people are questioning what that even means. And that is totally fine. If you spent most of your life not taking care of yourself then how do you even know where to begin.

As a boudoir photographer, it's amazing the stories that I hear from the women I work with, esp with how bad they tear themselves down every day. During our boudoir sessions we really dig deep into why we do this, and how to change that. This should definitely be more of a priority to ourselves for our health not just our mental health. However, when you have such a bad bout of depression it's really hard to motivate yourself to do any of these things. Exercise does not just mean being in the gym lifting weights or running on a treadmill. I absolutely hate doing those things. Especially in the winter time I just don't wanna move around. So as spring comes around I'm trying to find ways to get myself moving again to help not just my mind but my body. Something I want to start this week is going to be going for walks in the morning and night and getting back into dancing in my kitchen alone at night. Do not let people discourage you by comparing your fitness to others who are crazy about fitness. As long as you get up for 15 minutes and just walk or do a 5 minute stretch in the morning you are helping yourself with your self care. Then we can turn that 5 minutes in the morning to 10, then 15, then 20 minutes every day you will start getting used to taking care of your body which will then help take care of your mind as well. Self care does not need to be hard!

Actually let's just skip all that together and book your boudoir session experience! That is totally self care that will last years and years!!
